This 100-hour Pre & Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training Course is intricately designed for passionate yoga teachers of all levels, regardless of their school of practice.                                                             

It is tailored for those devoted to imparting a conscious pregnancy and birthing experience to couples while delving into the profound realms of philosophy, anatomy, and the techniques of asanas, pranayama, and labor management.

The course is a compilation of a meticulously curated process that incorporates mindful practices to instill discipline in couples from preconception through delivery, labor, and post-delivery. Rooted in deep knowledge, the course has drawn essential wisdom from the Garbha Upanishad, seamlessly blending ancient teachings with modern science for the benefit of the human race.

Curriculum

Module 1: Asana Technique Classes

Sequence of asanas are taught thoroughly in the format given below. The students are expected to learn the same and teach classes.

  • Sanskrit name and English translation
  • Silent demonstration
  • Limitations
  • Benefits
  • Detailed technique
  • Common mistakes
  • Variations
  • Class practice and instructions

Module 2: Pranayama

A selection of energizing and relaxing pranayama techniques will be taught during the technical class.

Module 3: Anatomy Lessons

A general overview of the structure and function of the human anatomy will be taught for the student to co-relate the impact of their practice on the body. Deeper dive into the anatomy of a woman’s body before, during, and after pregnancy.

Module 4: Philosophy

Basics from the study of scriptures like Garbha Upanishad and Garbha Sanskara is taught.

  • Sutras/Shlokas from Garbha Upanishad
  • Basics of Garbha Sanskara that can be applied in day-to-day life
  • Mantras and Shloka chanting

Module 5: Labor management

Module 6: Self-practice

Self-study, study of recommended books, participating in discussion and practice of all the above-mentioned topics is expected from each student throughout the four week course.

Applying the 8-step teaching methodology, students will take several teaching sessions, leading fellow students in a classroom setting through a mock teaching class multiple times during the course. The aim is for students to gain knowledge of the methodology of teaching that includes the principles of demonstration, instructions and observation. Students may be required to observe Indea Yoga teachers who take the Mysore Style (Guided Self Practice) classes.

  • Students should be Level 1 certified teachers from Indea Yoga or any other reputed institutes from across the world.
  • Consistent practitioner.

Course Exam & Certification

On successful completion of a theory and practical exam you graduate with Indea Yoga RPYS (Registered Prenatal Yoga School), with an RPYT 100+ certification by Yoga Alliance.

While not mandatory, the following books can be referred for those interested in gaining a better understanding of yoga & prenatal yoga:
