Bharat Shetty’s yoga journey began 30 years back . In 1998, he founded Bharatha Yoga, a global platform dedicated to spreading the authentic wisdom of yoga. His deep knowledge was shaped under the mentorship of the legendary Padma Vibhushan B.K.S. Iyengar in Pune, India. He was also honored with the title of Yogacharya by the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center and received advanced training from Vivekananda Kendra (SVYASA), Bangalore.

With over three decades of teaching experience, Bharat Shetty has trained and certified more than 2500 yoga teachers worldwide, fostering a new generation of skilled practitioners. His commitment to the ancient practice has earned him a patronship in the Indian Yoga Association.

A passionate yogi with over 10 years of experience, Prashanth Kumar Verma is dedicated to the transformative power of yoga. He holds a Master’s degree in Yoga from S-VYASA, Bangalore and believes that yoga strengthens not just the body but also the mind and emotions.

As the Head of the Teacher Training Program at Bharatha Yoga, Prashanth plays a vital role in shaping and mentoring aspiring yoga instructors. His expertise ensures that students not only master the physical aspects of yoga but also develop a deep understanding of breathwork, alignment, and mindfulness.

Urmal Munjwani – Head of Mysore yoga classes, Bharatha Yoga
Urmal Munjwani is the Head of Mysore-style classes at Bharatha Yoga Shala and also serves as one of the Directors. With more than a decade of dedicated practice and teaching, she is known for her structured, therapeutic approach that helps students deepen their personal practice. Alongside her Mysore classes, she also contributes to the Teacher Training Courses.
An E-RYT 500 certified teacher, QCI Certified by the Ministry of AYUSH, and holder of a Master’s in Yoga Therapy, Urmal has built her foundation through training at some of India’s most respected institutions, including The Yoga Institute (Mumbai) and Patanjali International Foundation (Rishikesh).
Her path took a transformative turn in 2018 when she began training under Yogacharya Bharat Shetty in Mysore. Guided by his teachings, Urmal has since deepened her practice in both Hatha and Ashtanga Yoga, and now carries forward his vision by guiding practitioners through Mysore sessions, workshops, and teacher training.
A young dynamic Ayurveda graduate, he pursued his graduation from one of the esteemed institutions, Government Ayurveda medical college which is more than 100 years old. A victim of poor health, he regained his health when he came across Yogacharya Bharat Shetty in the year 2004. Genuine selfless service rendered by Yogacharya for the welfare of mankind enthralled him. This infused him with enthusiasm and he developed an inclination towards yoga at a very young age. He chose to rediscover the relationship between authentic Ayurveda and yoga. Anup started assessing and educating about human anatomy and physiology in relationship with yoga and the yogic way of adopting it in a daily life.
H. V. Nagaraja Rao, Vidvān, Oriental Research Institute Mysore (emeritus), is a world authority on Sanskrit grammar and poetics. He is the editor of numerous Sanskrit works and has translated many Sanskrit works into English and Kannada, including, most recently, Ruyyaka’s Alaṃkārasarvasvam.
A passionate yoga teacher of Indea Yoga, who started her journey in 2016 as a self-exploratory journey, she started teaching in the year 2017, later she fell in love with the yoga practice. Yoga for her was not just a practice but a way of living and that’s what drawn her interest in practicing and teaching yoga, she has done TTC: 200 hours in the year 2017, 500 hours in 2019, and later she has done 200 hours in 2020 and 300 hours in 2021 at Indea Yoga, presently working at Indea Yoga as a Philosophy teacher.
An Ayurvedic doctor who specialises in the management of gynaecological issues and other issues related to women health. In search of non-chemical and wholistic modalities to treat mental and physical ailments, she came across yoga and discovered its unique benefits. Ever since, she has been a consistent practitioner and also chose to educate the same to the world.
