Yoga Teachers Training courses - FAQ

Anyone wishing to deepen their personal yoga practice, understand the essence of yoga, or become a certified teacher.

Yes. A minimum of 6 months of regular yoga practice is required before enrolling. You can practice from home with the help of these videos. 

Both have unique approaches, sequencing, and emphasis. Please see our Ashtanga TTC and Hatha TTC pages for details.

No. Our Level 2 (advanced Yoga teacher training) is open only to students who have completed Level 1 at our Bharatha Yoga Shala.

Yes. If you meet the attendance requirements, pass the exam, and stay committed throughout, you’ll be fully prepared to teach. We give you the right tools and guidance, and by the end of the course, you’ll be ready to register with Yoga Alliance and begin your teaching journey.

Absolutely. Many students take TTCs for personal growth and self-understanding without intending to teach.

We follow a structured schedule with morning practice, theory sessions, teaching methodology, and self-study time. You can view a detailed timetable for each course here: Hatha TTC, Ashtanga TTC, and Advanced TTC.

Yes. Level 1 is a 200-hour Yoga Alliance–certified course, qualifying you for RYT-200 registration. Level 2 is a 300-hour course, and completing both Level 1 and Level 2 qualifies you for RYT-500 registration.

We limit the number of participants in each yoga teacher training batch to ensure individual attention and a supportive learning environment.

Level 1 (200 hours) is a one-month course. Level 2 – Advanced (300 hours) is also a one-month course.

Mysore Yoga Classes - FAQ

Kramatvam is a self-practice program where sequences are customized for each student and practiced at your own pace under the teacher’s guidance. Laghutvam is a led class with everyone following the same guided sequence. Please see Kramatvam and Laghutvam for full details.

No. A chart will be provided, and your teacher will guide you, help you refine postures, and give hands-on adjustments when needed.

5–10 minutes before class starts.

Yes, with a specially designed program. Your teacher will advise.

Yes – we recommend our Arogyam therapy program.  Minimum duration of this course is 21 days. 

No – we use the breath as our primary prop. Physical props can create dependency.

Yes, but please arrive 10 minutes prior to the class.

None – everyone is welcome. But please note: if you are a beginner, choose beginner classes (not intermediate). You can check our schedule here.

Stay, Food, Travel & Registration – FAQ

Yes. We offer two options—single rooms or shared rooms. Both have an attached bathroom, a cupboard, and a study table for each person.

Yes. We serve vegetarian food—two main meals a day, along with tea, vegetable juice, fruit, and a snack.

We provide washing machines for self-use, Wi-Fi, filtered drinking water, housekeeping, and other basic amenities. Check out our Yoga Dhama

Students need to reach the shala on their own. Airport or station pick-up can be arranged at an additional cost.

Each course page has a Book Now button. When you click it, you’ll be taken to the cart—proceed to register or log in, fill out the form, and submit your booking. Once we receive your form and non-refundable deposit via bank transfer (PhonePe and GPay are not available), we’ll confirm your spot by email. All further communication will also be through email. We do not offer cancellations.

We currently accept payments only through bank transfer. UPI-based apps such as PhonePe and GPay are not available.

Yes. To reserve your spot, you first pay the non-refundable deposit. The remaining balance is due before the course begins.

We do not offer cancellations. In emergencies, you can email us to request postponing your training to a future batch within one year.

No. All deposits are non-refundable.

You just need to arrive before the course starts. If you’re staying with us, you’re welcome to come a night early.
